The NINCH Guide to Good Practice in the Digital Representation and Management of Cultural Heritage Materials

A Guide to Good Practice created by NINCH (National Initiative for a Networked Cultural Heritage). This report was put together by practitioners from digitisation programs in different types of institutions (museums, libraries, archives, the arts and academic departments) to develop a set of principles and guidelines for good practice in the digital representation and management of cultural heritage. The guide is based on a set of broad guiding principles for the creation, capture and management of networked cultural resources. It offers a general strategy for life-cycle management of digital resources and is particularly useful to newcomers to the field and practitioners involved in smaller projects.
